It’s never too late to become what you might have been.
– George Eliot
Happy Cinnamon serves as an inspirational confirmation that it’s never too late to ignite our life purpose and passion. Staying stuck in the “all-or-nothing” mentality ensures that nothing happens; however, at any point in life, small and carefully planned lifestyle tweaks lifestyle can lead to powerful life transformations. It’s about a new fresh perspective, falling in love with life, celebrating our unique talents, and living like we deserve and mean it.
Feeling our best comes from the realization that we are multidimensional beings and that different aspects of wellness, such as emotional, intellectual, occupational, physical, and social dimensions impact our overall well-being. It is up to us to choose who and what to listen to and to decide what course of action to take.
Prior to building a career in wellness, I worked as a scientist and a project manager. As a proud type A in the corporate world, I was assured that “success” was right around the corner. Endlessly multitasking and spinning my wheels, I grew disenchanted and began my search for true inspiration and purpose. The day finally came when I realized that we have limited time on this earth, and I refused to spend another second of it doing anything that I was not passionate about.
My yoga practice reminded me that the stories we listen to shape our minds and lives. I started practicing with an open mind, and the power of the breath ignited the alchemy that gradually followed: courage, contentment, perseverance, passion and occasional surrender.
After completing a number of yoga teacher trainings, soul-searching retreats, and coaching certifications, my passion and purpose became advocating for mind-body connection, wellness, and a fulfilled lifestyle. My upbringing on three different continents with very distinct and different cultures shaped my perspective–the valuable awareness that there are different paths leading to wellness fulfillment and, ultimately, happiness.
I reside in Washington, D.C., with my husband and daughters. I love traveling, meaningful conversations, music, laughing with my family and breathing deeply as often as possible.
We all need a reminder that life is, indeed, extraordinary. We fall behind in key areas such as health, relationships or professional performance–we need accountability. However, our hesitations are just the stories and timeline we have given ourselves. We all have different needs. We have told ourselves that certain things need to happen by a certain age, or they will never happen for us. Nothing could be further from the truth, and we can choose to make our destiny at any time.
Sometimes we find our purpose on purpose, and sometimes our purpose finds us by accident. The important thing is to welcome the valuable inspirations and explore them. Happy Cinnamon is my story. It came as an inspiration, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share it with you and work with you.
